The electronics industry in general and the domestic appliances market in particular is embracing the endless decorative possibilities of coatings. In a competitive marketspace, using coatings is a way for products to stand out on retailer’s shelves.

Gone are the times of black, grey or beige plastics in a market that more and more targets a fashion sensitive audience. No longer are appliances selected based on functionality only but also on aesthetics.

Great examples of this movement are high end coffee makers and colorful bread toasters which looks like they are pulled out of an Italian design kitchen. Another example is the vacuum robot. No longer are appliances hidden in cabinets and closets but they are showcased as any other piece of furniture or accessories.
